Prayer for Health & Parnasa

This special prayer should be recited on Rosh Chodesh Iyar. BUT if you haven’t recited, it can still be recited during the month of Iyar!

Rosh Chodesh Iyar is a perfect time for prayers for health and Parnasa!

During the month of Iyar, when Bnei Israel left Mitzrayim (Egypt) all sick and weak, G-od blessed them all with healing and health and all arrived the mount Sinai healthy. During the month of Iyar the Man started coming down from the heavens. For these two events that brought healing and sustenance, we learn that the month of Iyar has this power every year!

The prayer can be found on this page both in Hebrew and English.

Since it’s Erev Rosh Chodesh we have the custom to fast. If one doesn’t not want to fast (Or can’t becasue it is Shabbat) you can redeem the fast with charity.

The Blessing of Flowering Fruit Trees

A once in a year opportunity – The Blessing of Flowering Fruit Trees in the Spring Season. When the spring (Aviv) season arrives, a blessing is traditionally said when one is in view of at least two flowering fruit trees.

Usually this prayer is best said on Rosh Chodesh, but since this year Rosh Chodesh falls on Shabbat the Ben Ish Chai says one should not recite this blessing on Shabbat although according to Halacha (Jewish code of law) you can.

This year Rabbi Anava will be reciting the blessing after Shabbat. Will will advertise more details shortly.

in the mean time, please take the time to watch the following video and learn all about this amazing Mitzvah.
