23rd of Sivan special prayer

Special prayer for the 23rd of Sivan

On the 23rd of the month of Sivan (כג׳ סיון) the decree of Haman (At the time of Mordechai and Esther) to annihilate the Jewish nation was nullified. The holy books teach us that this day is a very powerful day for prayers to nullify decrees and anything bad, evil and horrible against us. The same way that from that day and on the situation of the Jewish nation changed and became good, and “Mordecai left the king’s presence with royal raiment” (Esther 8/15) … “and the city of Shushan shouted and rejoiced” … and as a result the Megila says… “The Jews had light and joy, and gladness and honor” – The holy books teach us that this day (Sivan 23) is a powerful day to revoke and nullify any decree against you (Sickness, death, poverty, infertile, etc.)

Therefore on this powerful day there are a few things you want to do:

  1. Light two (2) candles for Esther and Mordechai
  2. Give three (3) coins to charity. The coins should be held with both hands at the same time when placing in the charity box
  3. Read chapters 22, 83, 130, 142 of Tehilm – Find text below
  4. Read chapter 8 from the Megila of Esther – Find text below
  5. Read Avinu Malkeinu (Without a blessing, just the text)- Find text below
  6. Pray from your heart with your words anything you want and need – Ask from Hashem
  7. Recite the short prayer – Find text below
  8.  Take on yourself a good decision to add a Mitzvah to your daily schedule

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure all the above is done and read on the 23rd of Sivan (June 22nd 2022) during the day from dawn till sundown!

For the conductor, on the ayeleth hashachar, a song of David

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? [You are] far from my salvation [and] from the words of my moaning

My God, I call out by day and You do not reply, and at night I do not keep silent

But You are holy; You await the praises of Israel

Our ancestors trusted in You; they trusted and You rescued them

They cried out to You and they escaped; they trusted in You and they were not shamed

But I am a worm and not a man; a reproach of man, despised by peoples

All who see me will mock me; they will open their lips, they will shake their head

One should cast his trust upon the Lord, and He will rescue him; He will save him because He delights in him

For You drew me from the womb; You made me secure on my mother’s breasts

Upon You, I was cast from birth; from my mother’s womb You are my God

Do not distance Yourself from me, for distress is near; for there is none to help

Great bulls have surrounded me; the mighty ones of Bashan encompassed me

They opened their mouth against me [like] a tearing, roaring lion

I was spilled like water, and all my bones were separated; my heart was like wax, melting within my innards

My strength became dried out like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my palate; and You set me down in the dust of death

For dogs have surrounded me; a band of evildoers has encompassed me, like a lion, my hands and feet

I tell about all my bones. They look and gloat over m

They share my garments among themselves and cast lots for my raiment

But You, O Lord, do not distance Yourself; my strength, hasten to my assistance

Save my soul from the sword, my only one from the grip of the dog

Save me from the lion’s mouth, as from the horns of the wild oxen You answered me

I will tell Your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise You

You who fear the Lord, praise Him; all the seed of Jacob, honor Him, and fear Him, all the seed of Israel

For He has neither despised nor abhorred the cry of the poor, neither has He hidden His countenance from him; and when he cried out to Him, He hearkened

Because of You is my praise in the great congregation; I pay my vows in the presence of those who fear Him

The humble shall eat and be sated; they shall praise the Lord, those who seek Him; your hearts shall live forever

All the ends of the earth shall remember and return to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall prostrate themselves before You

For the kingship is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations

They shall eat all the best of the earth and prostrate themselves; before Him shall all those who descend to the dust kneel, and He will not quicken his soul

The seed that worships Him; it shall be told to the generation concerning the Lord

They shall come and tell His righteousness to the newborn people, that which He has done

A psalm, a song of Asaph

O God, have no silence, do not be silent and do not be still, O God

For behold, Your enemies stir, and those who hate You raise their heads

Against Your people they plot cunningly, and they take counsel against Your protected ones

They said, “Come, let us destroy them from [being] a nation, and the name of Israel will no longer be remembered.”

For they have taken counsel with one accord; against You they form a pact

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre

Also Assyria joined them; they were the arm of the children of Lot forever

Do to them as [to] Midian; as [to] Sisera, as [to] Jabin in the brook Kishon

They were destroyed in En-Dor; they were [as] dung on the ground

Make them, their nobles, as Oreb and as Zeeb, and as Zebah and as Zalmuna all their princes

Who said, “Let us inherit for ourselves the dwellings of God.”

My God, make them like thistles, like stubble before the wind

As a fire that burns in a forest and as a flame that burns mountains

So will You pursue them with Your tempest, and with Your whirlwind You will terrify them

Fill their faces with shame, and they will seek Your countenance, O Lord

Let them be ashamed and terrified forever; let them be disgraced and perish

Let them know that You-Your name alone is the Lord, Most High over all the earth

O God, if You keep [a record of] iniquities, O Lord, who will stand?

For forgiveness is with You, in order that You be feared

I hoped, O Lord; yea, my soul hoped, and I wait for His word

My soul is to the Lord among those who await the morning, those who await the morning

Israel, hope to the Lord, for kindness is with the Lord and much redemption is with Him

And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities

Megilat Esther – Chapter 8

On that day, King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman the adversary of the Jews, and Mordecai came before the king, because Esther had told him what he was to her

And the king took off his ring, which he had removed from Haman and gave it to Mordecai, and Esther placed Mordecai in charge of the house of Haman

And Esther resumed speaking before the king, and she fell before his feet, and she wept and beseeched him to avert the harm of Haman the Agagite and his device that he had plotted against the Jews

Then the king extended the golden scepter to Esther, and Esther arose and stood before the king

And she said, “If it please the king, and if I have found favor before him, and the matter is proper before the king, and I am good in his sight, let it be written to rescind the letters, the device of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces

For how can I see the evil that will befall my people, and how can I see the destruction of my kindred?

Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Behold the house of Haman I have given to Esther, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he laid a hand on the Jews

And you-write about the Jews as you see fit, in the name of the king, and seal [it] with the king’s ring, for a writ that is written in the name of the king and sealed with the king’s ring cannot be rescinded

And the king’s scribes were summoned at that time, in the third month-that is the month of Sivan-on the twenty-third day thereof, and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews and to the satraps and the governors, and the princes of the provinces from Hodu to Cush, a hundred and twenty-seven provinces, every province according to its script and every nationality according to its tongue, and to the Jews according to their script and according to their tongue

And he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed it with the king’s ring, and he sent letters by the couriers on horseback, the riders of the king’s steeds-the camels, bred of the dromedaries

that the king had given to the Jews who are in every city, [the right] to assemble and to protect themselves, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish the entire host of every people and province that oppress them, small children and women, and to take their spoils for plunder

In one day, in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar

The copy of the writ was that an edict be given in every province, published before all the peoples, and that the Jews be ready for that day, to avenge themselves upon their enemies

The couriers, those who ride the king’s steeds, the camels, went out hastened and pressed by the king’s order, and the edict was given in Shushan the capital

And Mordecai left the king’s presence with royal raiment, blue and white and a huge golden crown and a wrap of linen and purple, and the city of Shushan shouted and rejoiced

The Jews had light and joy, and gladness and honor

And in every province and in every city, wherever the king’s order and his edict reached, [there was] joy and gladness for the Jews, a banquet and a festive day, and many of the peoples of the land became Jews because the fear of the Jews was upon them.

O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. From you I am asking mercy!

The same way you performed miracles and wonders to our forefathers and all previous generations, please bestow your mercy on me the same way, to me and all of your nations that are scattered all over the world and in all 4 corners of the earth, and bestow your mercy on all of us, to transform all evil to good, annul all harsh decrees concerning us, tear up the evil [parts] of our sentence both spiritual and physical, both to myself and others and from now on it should be only goodness and kindness to our body, soul and belongings

Amen!
