What should we do on Rosh Chodesh Tamuz?
-
- Light a candle for Rabbi Meir Ba’al Ha’Nes – BEST to light an oil candle!
- Since our custom is to fast on Erev Rosh Chodesh for our prayers to be accepted, we can either fast or redeem our fast with charity! The custom is to give charity in the amount of 72 (4 times Chai = Life) to bring Shefa to each letter of the month – Click here to give Charity (Any other amount is fine)
- Read verses of Tehilim (from chapter 119 קיט) eight (8) verses for each letter of Rabbi Meir’s name רבי מאיר בעל הנס – See the tab below
- Say 3 times אלהא דמאיר ענני – Find at bottom of page
- Read three (3) chapters of Tehilim 83, 130, 142 – See in the tab below
- Since Tamuz was the start of the destruction, the Tikun for this month is to reverse the cause of the destruction (Sinat Chinam – Baseless hate) by applying A LOT of Ahavat Chinam – Love with no conditions! Please increase in acts of kindness, help other, forgive others and spread love and light!
- Do Teshuvah (repent) and pray to G-d for anything you wish
Rabbi Anava is going on the first day of Rosh Chodesh (Thursday) to pray by Rebbe Meir Ba’al Hanes and on the second day (Friday) by Rebbe Yehuda Bar Ilai. If you want to submit names for prayer, please use the button below!
