Special prayer for Rosh Chodesh Kislev
Rosh Chodesh Kislev is one of the most powerful days of the year. The Chatam Sofer says Rosh Chodesh Kislev is like Yom Kipur! And all the holy books explain that this day is most powerful for prayers and change in your life and to open all the gates of blessings!
Please take a few minutes to watch the short video with important information you must know!
On this powerful day one should do the following:
- Light a candle for Rosh Chodesh in the merit of Rebbe Meir Ba’al Hanes
- Have a festive meal. Wash your hands for bread and recite the Birkat Hamazon with ‘Ya’ale Ve’yavo’
- During the day recite the Hallel prayer (During Shacharit)
- Give charity
- Reflect on all your actions, recognise your faults and plan for the change you are gong to make!
- Do Teshuva and pray to Hashem!
One should also recite four (4) chapters of Tehilim 22, 83, 130, 142 (which can be found below)
Since our custom is to fast on Erev Rosh Chodesh for our prayers to be accepted, we can either fast or redeem our fast with charity!
