Pesach Sheni is on the 14th day of Iyar
Thursday night April 30th, 2026 – Friday, May 1st, 2026
What should we do on Pesach Sheni?
Thursday (April 30th)
- Thursday night light a candle for Rabbi Meir Ba’al Ha’Ness.
- Have a festive meal and wash hands on bread, but make sure you eat Matzah. (If you only eat Matzah – For Sefaradi we say Mezonot. For Ashkenazi we say Ha’Motze)
- Pesach Sheni is a day of joy and like a Yom Tov. It’s good to add wine to your meal.
Friday (May 1th)
- Give charity in the merit of Rebbe Meir. Some have the custom to give in the amount of 90 (Gematria of Man מן) and some give double of מן which is 180 – Click here to give Charity
- Read verses of Tehilim (from chapter 119 קיט) eight (8) verses for each letter of Rabbi Meir’s name רבי מאיר בעל הנס – see the verses below
- Say 3 times אלהא דמאיר ענני – Find at bottom of page
- Do Teshuvah (repent) and pray to G-d for anything you wish
- Since the Man (מן) started coming down after Pesach Sheni we have the custom of reciting Parashat Ha’Man (very powerful for Parnasa) – Click here for the prayer
